Chris Steele. On February 23rd 2013 at 2:34pm Chris Steele of Douglasville, Georgia set a new World Record for Weighted Sword Swallowing before a live audience at Ripley’s Believe it or Not in Orlando, Florida. This was a part of the 6th annual World Sword Swallower’s Day put on by Sword Swallowers Association International (SSAI). On said date, Chris Steele swallowed a sword with a 17” blade with weights attached to the sword totaling 84.2 lbs., breaking the previous record of 68 lbs. He held the weight for a total of 5 seconds.
