Gum Boot: Throwing: Furthest: 65.34 meters. The rather unusual sport of gum boot throwing is said to have started in the 1910's in the Finnish countryside. In 1998, the International Boot-Throwing Association (IBTA) was founded which organizes national and international championships. The world record holder is Jouni Viljanen (Finland) who tossed a gum boot 65.34 m at Kokemäki on May 22, 1999. BOAR
