"1st Ever World Record to Cycle Unsupported 1,400 miles from Leeds to Murcia Spain in the quickest possible time"


On Wednesday 23rd July 2014 

Andy North of Guiseley, Leeds, UK

 set out from his home in Leeds on his bike and cycled to Portsmouth, ferry to Caen, through France, over the Pyrenees and down through Spain, arriving in Alhama de Murcia at 1.55pm, with a total traveling time of 14 days 7hrs & 49mins. 


This challenge was completed with an average maximum temperature of 34oc, averaging over 90 miles per day and a total ascent of  59,560ft. 


 


 


Leeds to Dortmund Cycle Challenge..



For the Leeds Lord Mayor Tour de France Grand Depart…



 " 1st ever World Record to travel the quickest possible time from Leeds to Dortmund Germany, by Cycling as a group of 3”.



On Friday 25th April at 12.19pm Iain Harris of Lothersdale, Keighley, Yorkshire, UK set off with Ben Wood and Andy North supported by Malcolm Willetts from Leeds Town Hall by the Lord & Lady Mayoress and travelled to Hull docks to catch the overnight P&O ferry to Rotterdam, then on to Dortmund in Germany in one continuous cycle ride. The ride was timed in total at 22hrs & 30minutes, to claim the first world record for this challenge... A special gift was presented to the Mayor of Dortmund from the Leeds Lord Mayor by the Ultra6 team on the Morning of the 27th April 2014.

Lands End to John O Groats. Marathon and 100 Mile Bike Ride " To travel the quickest possible time from Lands End to John O'Groats, by running a marathon 26.2 miles followed by a 100 miles bike ride consecutively"
on the 14th July 2013 Andy North, Ben Wood, Mick Bowden, Dave Edwards, Mike Senior & Martin Mansell set out from Lands End at 5.45am and at 10.09pm on Saturday 20th July 2013 some 6 days, 16 hrs 24 mins Andy North, Ben Wood and Mick Bowden arrived at John O'Groats to claim the first world record for this discipline...
Worlds Highest Cycling Ascent Records Up Mountain

1) The Worlds highest cycling ascent and descent on the
same continuous mountain climb
on Monday 13th July 2015 Andy North, Ben Wood
and Matt Robinson set out from Bedoin, Provence, France to ascend and descent
Mont Ventoux, during the following 4 days 16 hours and 14 minutes they completed
19.35 ascents and descents with a total hight gain of 100,000ft

2) The Worlds
fastest cycling ascent and descent of 100,000ft on the same continuous mountain
climb
on Monday 13th July 2015 Andy North, Ben Wood and Matt Robinson set out
from Bedoin, Provence, France to ascend and descent Mont Ventoux, during the
following 4 days 16 hours and 14 minutes they completed 19.35 ascents and
descents with a total hight gain of 100,000ft

3) The Worlds highest cycling
ascent and descent on the same continuous mountain climb as a team of 5
on
Monday 13th July 2015 Andy North, Ben Wood, Matt Robinson, Nicky Jovanovic and
Jimmy welsh set out from Bedoin, Provence, France to ascend and descent Mont
Ventoux, during the following 4 days 13 hours and 10 minutes they completed 15
ascents and descents with a total hight gain of 77,519ft
